hai rembulan (she/her) is the name that serves as a home for her works of art and handicrafts. Since 2013, hai rembulan has been actively producing zines and has made more than 70 to date. Her work also delves into the relationship between humans, animals and nature, spirituality, ancestors, nostalgia, and stories from her childhood. Rather than confining herself to a single medium, hai rembulan enjoys experimenting with various mediums and techniques. In addition to zines, she operates a small shop where she sells paintings, hand-painted and hand-embroidered linen clothing, hand-build ceramic, wood work, handmade merchandise, trinkets, and local vegetarian food she prepares. hai rembulan is also a co-initiator of Kongsi 8, a concept and studio store established in 2021 in East Jakarta. Hai Rembulan is active in the art scene as a facilitator of zine workshop, speaker, and activist. She has been working with several musicians, writers, and media. She has just held her very first solo exhibition in Mimilu, Bandung. The title of her solo exhibition is “Keluk Di Mimpi, Luhur Di Hari-hari (Spiralling)” she made 41 new artworks in various mediums such as painting on canvas, plates, vases, mug, and hand embroidery on used curtains.
